July 4, 2023 by Lauren Baxter

If you’re looking for a peaceful green space to escape the hustle and bustle of Norwich, then Wensum Park is the perfect destination. This beautiful park is located in the NR3 area of the city, just down the road from Williams’ Kitchen and Explorers Soft Play.

History of Wensum Park

According to Historic England, Wensum Park first begun it’s development in the early 20th Century. It used to be home to a swimming bath, bathing pool, wading pool, and shelter, all of which were completed by 1910. However, in 1925, it was open to the public as a public park for all to access.

Find your perfect coffee order

May 11, 2023 by Lauren Baxter

With many people coming to our wonderful cafe and wondering what coffee to order, we thought we’d make it simple. Here’s our guide of the different coffees we serve…

Untitled design 7
Espresso

Espresso is a concentrated coffee shot with a rich, intense flavour. It’s usually served in a small demitasse cup and consumed quickly.

Untitled design 8
Americano

An Americano is most similar to coffee you would drink at home. It is simply an espresso shot diluted in hot water. It’s usually served in a larger cup than espresso and can be enjoyed with milk or sugar.

Untitled design 9
Latte

A latte is made with espresso and steamed milk. It’s typically served in a tall glass and can be flavoured with syrups like vanilla or caramel. A latte has a smooth, creamy texture and is often topped with frothed milk.

Untitled design 10
Cappuccino

A cappuccino is similar to a latte, but with less milk and more foam. It’s made with equal parts of espresso, steamed milk, and frothed milk, and served in a smaller cup than a latte. The foam on top is often dusted with cocoa powder

Untitled design 12
Flat White

A flat white is a coffee drink that is made with espresso and steamed milk, but with less foam than a cappuccino. It has a smooth, velvety texture and is often served in a small cup. It often has a stronger tasting coffee shot in than a latter or cappuccino.

Mocha

A mocha is a coffee-based drink made with espresso, steamed chocolate-flavoured milk. Mochas are served hot in a mug and are a popular treat for coffee lovers with a sweet tooth.

Whether you prefer a strong espresso, a creamy latte, or a sweet mocha, there’s a coffee drink out there for everyone. So next time you’re at Williams’ Kitchen, or while the kids are in Explorers Soft Play, try something new made using Costa Coffee beans and syrups.

5 ingredients to add to your summer salad

May 4, 2023 by Harriet King

Summer Salad

Summer is just around the corner, and what better way to enjoy the warm weather than with a delicious and refreshing salad? Not only are salads a great way to stay healthy, but they’re also perfect for keeping you cool during the hot summer days. To help you step up your salad game this season, here are five things you can add to your salad to make it more exciting and flavourful:

  1. Fresh Berries: Summer is the perfect time to incorporate fresh berries into your salads. Whether it’s juicy strawberries, sweet raspberries, or tangy blueberries, these fruits add a burst of flavour and nutrition to your salad.
  2. Grilled Courgette and Aubergine: Adding grilled courgette and aubergine to your salad is a great way to add some smoky flavor and texture. Simply grill them until they’re tender and slightly charred, then toss them with your favorite greens and dressing.
  3. Nuts and Seeds: Adding nuts and seeds to your salad provides a satisfying crunch and a good source of healthy fats and protein. Try adding almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds to your salad for some added nutrition.
  4. Fresh Coriander: Fresh coriander is a great way to add some flavor and fragrance to your salad. Simply chop it up and sprinkle it over your greens for a fresh and zesty taste.
  5. Grilled Chicken or Tofu: For an added protein boost, grilled chicken or tofu is a great addition to your summer salad. Marinate your chicken or tofu in your favorite spices and grill until cooked through, then toss with some fresh greens and your favourite dressing for a satisfying and complete meal.

There are countless ways to create a salad that is not only healthy but also delicious and refreshing. So, get creative, experiment with different ingredients, and enjoy a fresh and tasty salad this summer!

Here at Williams’ Kitchen we are offering a range of fresh salads on our specials boards throughout the summer, with both meat and vegetarian options available – with ingredients locally sourced from suppliers in and around Norfolk.
